I find it interesting that I am able to post from China. However, I am not able to actually get onto the web log from here. The Forbidden Library web site is also apparently off limits.
I found it interesting to find Beijing Doll in a bookstore in English yesterday. I read on the cover last year that it had been banned throughout China. It is a coming of age book much like Catcher in the Rye. So, I was shopping through the very Western shops near the hotel when I came across this book which actually reads on the back cover that it was banned in China. Wait a minute, I am in China!
Maybe the Chinese version is not available?
